Had lunch here. Food was good. Bistro meals. Reasonably priced. Long wait for food, as they had a poker tournament on. Kids meals were large and delicious! Also great kids drawing packs. They have a small playroom. Lots of staff whom were all lovely. Parking out the front. Great to look at the race course while having lunch.

Tabcorp Park - Home Straight Bistro

The food is just ok. The place is odd, every time we have been its been fairly empty, yet we are seated close to other groups, which would be fine if thet hadnt really packed the tables and chairs together. One big stand out though is the free shuttle bus, great if everyone wants to drink.

This is the second time we have dined at home strait bistro, I&#39;m sorry to say the second time wasn&#39;t any better than the first time. The staff were very friendly and helpful but the food was below standard. I had calamari with chips and salad. Well salad was a stretch. Small bowl green leaves, half a dozen flakes of carrot, and one small cherry tomato cut in half, the calamari was fine cooked well and tender and plentiful, the chips were so oily if you put your fork on top of the chip the oil just oozed out. Felt like I was eating oil. I&#39;m sorry to say we won&#39;t be back. We live over an hours drive from Tabcorp so we would have to be desperate to go back.

Unfortunately the diner isn&#39;t catered to at all here and we were practically called liars. One guest in our party had a parmigiana and he is not a complainer by no means but this time his ham was sour and he could not eat it we did complain and was told the ham is fresh daily and no apology was given even when the manager came over he didn&#39;t even offer to swap it or anything and still no apology. So this is an establishment I will not return to as in my opinion they are not professional and do not have the policy of keeping the customer happy, this might answer the question of why is this place empty most of the time??
